01 Who we are

Meetlingua, Inc. ("Meetlingua", "we", "us") operates the real-time multilingual meeting platform at meetlingua.com. We are incorporated in Delaware, USA.

02 What we collect

Account data

–Name, email address, and hashed password

–Language preferences and saved language pairs

–No billing information is collected while payments are disabled.

Meeting data

–Audio / video streams — processed in-transit for transcription and translation; not stored unless you enable recording

–Transcripts — stored with timestamps and speaker labels when recording is on

–Chat messages — both original and translated versions kept in Meeting History

–AI assistant queries — ephemeral; discarded at session end, never logged

Guest users

Guests provide only a display name and language preference. No account is created. All guest session data is purged 24 hours after the meeting ends.

Usage data

–IP address and approximate location (country / region only)

–Browser and device type

–Feature usage metrics, translation latency, and quality ratings

03 How we use it

–Provide real-time transcription, translation, and text-to-speech

–Generate post-call summaries via GPT-4o-mini — data sent to OpenAI under a signed DPA

–Voice synthesis via ElevenLabs — per-utterance audio only; no long-term voice storage without your explicit consent

–Improve translation quality using aggregated, anonymised accuracy signals

–Send transactional emails: meeting receipts, summaries, and security alerts

–Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your data. We do not use your content to train our own AI models without your explicit opt-in.

05 Data retention

–Non-recorded audio — deleted in real time; never written to disk

–Transcripts & recordings — kept until you delete them, or after 24 months of inactivity

–Account data — retained while active, plus 30 days post-deletion

–Billing records — not collected while payments are disabled

–Guest session data — purged 24 hours after the meeting ends

06 Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. EU and UK residents have additional rights under GDPR — full details on our GDPR page.

To exercise any right, email privacy@meetlingua.com or visit the Privacy section in your account settings. We respond within 30 days.

07 Security

–All audio and video encrypted in transit using WebRTC SRTP with Insertable Streams

–Data at rest encrypted with AES-256

–Short-lived JWTs (15 min) plus refresh tokens for API authentication

–Quarterly penetration testing by an independent third party

–SOC 2 Type II certified — report available to enterprise customers on request

08 Cookies

09 Changes

We'll email registered users at least 14 days before any material change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
